Ahead of the weekend, MHW learned that Fruit Street Health — a digital health and telehealth startup focused on delivering the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program and other chronic disease prevention programs — has raised an additional $3 million.

Signature Medical Raises $2.5 Million in Series A Financing

Signature Medical, Inc., an Allied Minds portfolio company, confirmed to MHW on Wednesday that it has completed a $2.5 million Series A funding round.

We’re told that the round included participation from Riot Ventures, an early stage investment group focused on emerging technologies; Bose Corporation, a global leader in audio innovation; and Allied Minds.

If you’re not familiar, Signature Medical is developing AcoustiCare, its “flagship wearable product focused on heart failure evaluation and monitoring to improve patient outcomes while preventing hospital re-admissions.”

Qualcomm Announces New Wearables Platform

Qualcomm Incorporated recently announced that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., is bringing LTE categories M1 (eMTC) and NB1 (NB-IoT) connectivity to the wearables industry with the launch of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 1200 platform.

We’re told that Snapdragon Wear 1200 takes advantage of the wide coverage provided by emerging LTE narrowband technologies, or LTE IoT, to help usher in a new generation of ultra-low power, highly energy efficient, always connected, and cost-efficient experiences to targeted purpose wearable devices such as kid, pet, elderly, and fitness trackers.
