Wellthie, an insurance technology company offering sales technology to producer and carrier partners that wish to modernize their distribution process, has just announced its selection of the HealthiestYou telehealth and consumer engagement product by Teladoc, the world’s largest provider of virtual care delivery services.

According to a provided statement, Insurance brokers nationwide can now utilize Wellthie’s first-of-its-kind platform – Wellthie Small Group – to easily quote and enroll members to receive telehealth services.

Wellthie’s comprehensive marketplace allows brokers to shop medical and ancillary insurance for small group employer clients that are looking to offer coverage to their employees. HealthiestYou by Teladoc will be available via the Wellthie Small Group platform, comprehensive Small Group benefits marketplace that offers dynamic sales optimization tools to empower top brokers and agents nationwide.

1Vision Awarded Home Telehealth Contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

1Vision LLC confirmed to MHW today that it has been selected as the only Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to be awarded a contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to deliver home telehealth solutions to U.S. veterans.

The contract includes one base year and four one-year option periods with a maximum value of $258,668,957.

Virtual Veterinary Care Telehealth Provider Touts Newest Partnership

whiskerDocs, the nation’s largest veterinary telehealth provider, announced this week their sponsorship of the NAVC Veterinary Innovation Council (VIC).

Report: 45 Percent of Industry Professionals See Key Role for Telemedicine

Mitchell, a leading provider of technology, connectivity and information solutions to the Property & Casualty (P&C) claims and Collision Repair industries, coordinated with Risk & Insurance magazine to survey U.S. professionals in the workers’ compensation industry to gauge their views on which technologies they believe will have the greatest impact on the workers’ compensation industry in the future, and which operational areas will improve the most as a result of those technologies.

Notably, 45 percent of respondents believe telemedicine will have the biggest impact on the industry, followed by artificial intelligence (19 percent), mobile technologies (14 percent), wearable devices (10 percent), and chatbots (one percent). About 10 percent of respondents believe that none of these will significantly impact workers’ compensation.

iHealthHome Taps Telemonitoring For Supporting Cancer Researchers

According to a statement emailed to MHW on Friday, iHealthHome has partnered with investigators at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center on the study entitled “Integrating a Telemonitoring Device into the Outpatient Management of Adult Patients Following Intensive Chemotherapy for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and High-Grade Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS): A Randomized Pilot Study,” which concluded that “Integrating a telemonitoring device into outpatient management of AML/MDS patients is feasible, well-received by patients and providers, and provides valuable, potentially actionable medical information.”

“Healthcare is moving rapidly to the home,” says Dew-Anne Langcaon, co-founder and CEO of iHealthHome. “Our mission is to provide a software platform and tools to enable providers to perform comprehensive care management for medically complex and elderly patients in their own home. First Opinion Tops Half a Million Medical Consults Provided

Recently, MHW learned that First Opinion — a technology company offering artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted on-the-go doctor visits — can now tout the achievement that 500,000 doctor consultations have been hosted on the company’s mobile and web apps.

If you’re not familiar, the service — launched in December 2013 — helps people with and without insurance gain instant access to a doctor through “easy, smart messaging.”

Users and doctors have exchanged over 12 million messages across the half a million consultations, which span from parenting and pregnancy questions, to concerns over aches and pains, to chronic condition education.

“We want everyone to have access to a real doctor. Period. And the AI is what makes it possible,” said McKay Thomas, CEO and co-founder of First Opinion. “Telehealth will be the hub of primary care and First Opinion is positioned to be just that.”
