iCare Navigator Launched with AI-Driven Virtual Health Coach

On Wednesday, MHW was briefed by TeleHealth Services, a leading provider of interactive patient engagement solutions, on their launch of iCare Navigator — the first enterprise-scale interactive patient engagement platform using an empathetic “virtual health coach” driven by artificial intelligence.

As for how it works, the offering in question is clearly more advanced than most of what we’re used to in this space.

This transformative approach to patient engagement using avatars is designed to connect with patients in new ways and improve health, change behaviors, and ultimately reduce readmissions and healthcare costs. Patient engagement and education is integrated with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and other clinical systems to follow the patient through the entire continuum of care–from pre-admit to post-acute, and at home during recovery. The cloud-based services model, delivered through patient televisions, bedside tablets and mobile devices, also allows for unprecedented affordability and scalability of the platform.

Covenant Health Aiming to ‘Transform Elder Care’ Through Telemedicine Technology

Covenant Health, a regional Catholic health delivery network and leader in values-based, not-for-profit healthcare, has introduced telemedicine technology at four of its skilled nursing facilities in New England.

TripleCare, a telemedicine platform designed for skilled nursing facilities (SNF), is enhancing care delivery and reducing hospital admissions at Covenant skilled nursing facilities in Maine (St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion-Lewiston) and the Greater Boston area (Mary Immaculate-Lawrence, St. Joseph Manor-Brockton and Maristhill-Waltham).

TripleCare’s virtual technology and services enables Covenant’s on-site nurses to connect seamlessly with highly-trained physicians to diagnose and treat patients during hours when physicians are typically not on site. Evenings, weekends and holidays are the times when hospital transfers most often occur. The virtual bedside visits allow TripleCare physicians to discern efficiently if patients need to be transported or can be treated in place.
