FIRST LOOK: InDemand Interpreting Strategically Partners with Yorktel

MHW learned today that InDemand Interpreting, a technology-enabled medical interpreting company, today announced a partnership with Yorktel, a global provider of video cloud and managed services for healthcare customers. The partnership will enable easy access to medically qualified interpreters through Yorktel’s Univago HE telehealth platform using secure, multipoint virtual meeting rooms.

InDemand partners with healthcare organizations nationwide to bridge the communication gap between limited English proficient (LEP), Deaf and hard of hearing patients (HOH) and their clinicians. InDemand immediately connects healthcare professionals to medically qualified interpreters 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in more than 200 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL) and Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs).

Yorktel Univago HE is a fully managed subscription-based service comprised of everything needed to connect patients by video with remote clinicians, healthcare experts and family members. The platform allows for additional participants to join a patient consult through the click of a button, whether additional clinicians, family members or a medically qualified interpreter. This partnership enables InDemand to expand its goal of anytime, anywhere access to medically qualified interpreters in any clinical setting.

“Univago HE was purpose-built to handle multiple clinical workflows in one platform, consolidating different independent programs and investments. Now clinicians can communicate with a patient and conference in an interpreter, an additional doctor or a family member into the same call,” said John Vitale, Senior VP Product Management, Yorktel. “Our goal is to support care providers and to make their workflow more efficient and productive. The technology should be reliable, secure and easy to use, enabling clinicians to focus on what’s most important, taking care of their patients.”

“We applaud Yorktel for its innovation and ingenuity to include VRI as part of its platform to improve communications for telehealth encounters,” said InDemand’s Chairman and CEO, Cecil Kost. “Our partnership with Yorktel is yet another example of how InDemand is enabling anytime, anywhere access to medically qualified interpreters.”
