Teladoc, American Red Cross Bring Telehealth to Disaster Victims


New Red Cross App Aims to Increase Donor Frequency With Retail RewardsOn Wednesday, The American Red Cross and Teladoc, Inc. announced a partnership to deliver remote medical care to communities in the United States that are significantly affected by disasters.

“This is the first telehealth provider partnership for the Red Cross. Teladoc is the nation’s first and largest telehealth provider,” a media release reads.

Through this pilot collaboration, Teladoc will make its network of physicians available to people helped by the Red Cross whose access to health care providers has been limited or is unavailable after large-scale disasters.

New Red Cross App Aims to Increase Donor Frequency With Retail RewardsServiceMaster, a provider of residential and commercial services, announced Monday that it has entered into a national partnership with the American Red Cross to be the exclusive sponsor of the Red Cross Emergency App.

The app, we’re told, alerts people of significant weather events, in addition to providing expert safety advice on disaster preparedness.

New Red Cross App Aims to Increase Donor Frequency With Retail RewardsWhile the resounding majority of blood donors are both loyal and well-intentioned, the Red Cross still struggles with a 50% no-show rate for their scheduled blood donations.

In an effort to decrease the number of no-shows, and increase the frequency of donations, the Red Cross has launched a new mobile app, the Red Cross Blood Donor App.

The Red Cross’s other mobile apps focus primarily on first aid, as well as a variety of disaster preparedness and safety tips. But the new Red Cross Blood Donor App is designed to focus solely on donations.
