HIMSS Analytics Highlights Opportunities and Challenges with Telemedicine Adoption

HIMSS Analytics recently released two new Telemedicine Essential Brief studies that address both the inpatient and outpatient markets respectively.

“Essential Briefs are market research studies focused on identifying salient topics in the healthcare IT space that highlight mind share, market share and market opportunity of specific healthcare software technologies,” a provided summary explains.

All told, Health IT researchers from HIMSS Analytics examined the current adoption level of telemedicine solutions and services, to better understand how telemedicine is improving access to care and identifying emerging trends surrounding care integration via new services such as virtual care facilities.

Konica Minolta Rolls Out New Exa Enterprise Imaging Platform at HIMSS 2017

himss17-logoAt HIMSS 2017 this week, Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas, Inc. introduced its new Exa Enterprise Imaging Platform.

“Only Konica Minolta’s Exa Enterprise Imaging offers a diagnostic quality Zero Footprint Universal Viewer for DICOM and non-DICOM images, Server-Side Rendering, for fast access to large files, such as 3D Mammography, with no prefetching required, and cybersecurity with no data transferred to or stored on workstations to minimize unwanted exposure to patient data,” reads a statement emailed to mHealthWatch.

We’re told that the new collaborative workflow platform provides hospitals and imaging centers the ability to view images across departments and facilities, regardless of image source, for DICOM and non-DICOM images and a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) for central storage of images.
