HIMSS Publishes Annual Leadership Survey


HIMSS Publishes Annual Leadership Survey   HIMSS14 HIMSS Annual Leadership Survey HIMSS Just in time for this week’s HIMSS14 conference in Orlando, HIMSS published its Annual Leadership Survey, revealing that new federal mandates haven’t overwhelmed healthcare professionals and providers to the extent initially anticipated.

“The findings from the 25th Annual HIMSS Leadership Survey suggest that the federal government’s efforts to accelerate the use of information technology (IT) in healthcare organizations continues to pay off,” the report reads.

According to the data presented, more than 90 percent of hospital leaders in this study have already qualified for Stage 1 Meaningful Use and nearly 75% also indicated they expect to qualify for Stage 2 in 2014.

MTAM and HIMSS Partner to Promote mHealth   Mobile Technology Association of Michigan mobile health news mobile health Mobile Apps mHealth HIMSS The Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) has inked a new partnership with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

Together, the new partners in mHealth will team to “jointly provide publications, produce events and establish relationships.”

The ultimate aim of the coupling, however, is to promote mobile health apps, which continue to exhibit the potential to reduce medical costs and errors, remove geographic and economic disparities in treatment and reinforce consumer-focused health care for millions of people.

The partnership is designed to bring attention to mHealth for the benefit of app developers, device manufacturers, healthcare services providers and consumers, with particular focus on those products and services originating in Michigan.
