LifeMap Solutions, Stanford University School of Medicine Researchers to Launch App


LifeMap Sciences Announces Partnership with MedGenomeLifeMap Solutions, a digital health pioneer and co-developer of ResearchKit-enabled app Asthma Health, has just announced that the company has worked with researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine to develop and launch MyHeart Counts 2.0.

This version of the ResearchKit app–which is driving one of the largest studies of cardiovascular health ever conducted–presents users with graphs that show how they compare to other users in terms of how many steps they take each day, how happy they are, how much they sleep and the quantity of vegetables they are eating.

Most notably, the app also features the Stanford Coaching Module, which includes personalized coaching that varies for each user, depending on his or her activity profile.

Smartphone Video Consultations Impress During 5 Month PilotmHealthWatch learned today that LifeMap Solutions, a subsidiary of BioTime, Inc., and Mount Sinai Health System have announced that MountSinaiNY is now available for Android devices.

This marks our entry into the large and critical Android market.

Originally launched on iOS in June, MountSinaiNY offers patients a mobile portal to find centralized information and services, providing greater access to and utilization of the Mount Sinai Health System’s services.

UCLA–USC Working on Technology to Predict Asthma Attacks in ChildrenThe Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and LifeMap Solutions today announced international expansion of the free Asthma Health app to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Released in March 2015 alongside the launch of Apple’s ResearchKit platform in the United States, Asthma Health enables individuals with asthma to participate in a large-scale medical research study by simply using iPhone.

The Asthma Health app, we’re told, is designed to “facilitate asthma patient education and self-monitoring, promote positive behavioral changes, and reinforce adherence to treatment plans according to current asthma guidelines.”

This week, the organizations announced initial results and new clinical features for their free Asthma Health app.

Released six months ago, the app enables individuals with asthma to participate in a large-scale medical research study by simply using their Apple iPhones, a statement shared with mHealthWatch reads. The app’s newest features—the “Doctor Dashboard” and integration with Epic, the popular electronic health records (EHR) system—will help enable Asthma Health study participants to use the app with their physicians.
