Medfusion Extends Partnership with Meridian Medical Management


medfusionAccording to a media release provided by email to mHealthWatch on Thursday, Medfusion — a top provider of patient experience management (PXM) solutions — confirmed an extension of the company’s partnership with Meridian Medical Management to include complete patient payment solutions.

By fully integrating with the Meridian VertexDr PM/EMR system, Medfusion enables both clinical and administrative information to flow “effortlessly between systems, saving staff time and improving the patient experience.”

With out-of-pocket costs rising almost 230% over the last 10 years—patient payments now comprise as much as 30% of a practice’s revenue. This makes deploying a multitude of patient-friendly payment options mission-critical to a modern medical practice.

Medfusion Launches Mobile App to Simplify Healthcare RecordsOn Thursday, the team at Medfusion shared with mHealthWatch details of its latest efforts to simplify healthcare records.

In order to provide patients with a “one-stop destination” for all of their medical records, the patient engagement platform has developed a consumer mobile application called Medfusion Plus.

For decades, if patients wanted access to their medical records, they had to request and pay for a paper copy, which could take several days if not weeks. With the advent of portals, patients gained electronic access to certain portions of their medical records as created at the individual provider level, but this information was never available all in one place

Intuit Health Debuts New Apps “Mobile Inbox” for Smartphones & “iPad Patient Check-In”


Following the acquisition of MedFusion over a year ago, Intuit has debuted its new mHealth-focused division aptly named “Intuit Health.”  As such, the company has announced its first two mobile applications geared towards the mHealth market.

The first of which, a smartphone application called “Mobile Inbox,” allows access for the over 4 million users of Intuit Health’s Patient Portal to communicate better with their physicians while on the go.  The app allows members to schedule appointments, retrieve lab results or pay their co-pay among other things.  The app is expected to be available in mid 2012.
