This year’s mHealth Summit theme has been announced as “Anytime, Anywhere: Engaging Providers and Patients.”

The goal of the 2015 summit will be to develop more dynamic, interactive, and patient-driven mobile health experience—particularly in rural and low income areas.

Once again, organizers of the mHealth Summit will be partnering with Global mHealth Forum and work to facilitate discussion on the roles that telemedicine can play in the global healthcare arena.

Forbes magazine published a feature this week about the upcoming 2014 mHealth Summit.

Spanning December 7-11 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, D.C., this year’s Summit is expected to be its biggest to date, truly living up to the hype as a must-attend event for managers, marketers, and manufacturers in the mobile healthcare marketplace.

Interestingly enough, the Forbes piece opted to emphasize wearables — but not those that may readily come to mind ahead of the Summit. Instead, Forbes Style File took a look at the types of attire you may want to pack for the Summit depending on whether you’re an attendee, vendor, or presenter.

Lucia Savage, the new chief privacy officer at the Office of National Coordinator for Health IT, will speak publicly for one of the first times since joining ONC at the HIMSS Media Privacy & Security Forum at the mHealth Summit 2014. 

The panel will be held December 7, from 12:15 to 1:15 pm and top officials from the HHS Office for Civil Rights and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will be on the panel.

According to Government Health IT, Savage will appear alongside Suzanne Schwarts, director for emergency preparedness/operations and medical countermeasures in the FDA’s Center for Devices & Radiological Health, and Iliana Peters, senior advisor for HIPAA compliance and enforcement at HHS’s Office for Civil Right.

The forum in question, we’re told, is billed as a full-day special event examining how mobile technologies are transforming healthcare delivery.

The Clinical Mobility Forum, which is co-hosted by Healthcare IT News, is set for December 8 during the mHealth Summit.
