Northwell Health Boosts Patient Care with Philips Integrated Patient Monitoring Solutions

Royal Philips recently confirmed to MHW that Northwell Health, New York State’s largest healthcare provider, has improved clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction collaborating with Philips on a “comprehensive IT strategy.”

According to the details shared in an emailed statement, leveraging Philips Virtual Hospital Services portfolio – including eICU technology and a comprehensive Telestroke program – Northwell has seen a reduction in mortality in the ICU and improved access to life-saving stroke care, as well as increased patient satisfaction in the Emergency Department (ED) through a pilot program featuring the Philips IntelliVue Guardian with the wearable biosensor.

Northwell Health, Avizia Confirm New Telehealth Partnership

New Partnership Between Logicalis Healthcare Solutions And Ascendian Healthcare ConsultingOn Wednesday, mHealthWatch was briefed by the team at Avizia, a leading end-to-end telehealth solution provider, on their new strategic channel partnership with Northwell Health, New York state’s largest health care provider and private employer.

The company also confirmed a direct-equity investment from Northwell Ventures, the health system’s corporate venture arm.

“Within this enterprise-technology-focused partnership, the companies will work to expand the depth and reach of Northwell’s telehealth services, helping to effectively and efficiently provide patients with the right care at the right time and place,” a provided statement reads.

Northwell Health Gets Backing to Push Home-Based Pulmonary Rehab

Major Money Raised for Low IncomeAhead of the weekend, MHW learned that Northwell Health’s Feinstein Institute for Medical Research has been awarded a $1.5 million grant from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to study whether home-based pulmonary rehabilitation improves quality of life and decreases hospitalization in Hispanic patients with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

“Re-hospitalization is a huge burden for COPD patients and their families,” said Dr. Negin Hajizadeh in a provided news release. “We want to find a way to bring a therapy we know works – pulmonary rehabilitation – to COPD patients who are most in need.”
