New App May Help Schizophrenia Patient Care

header-bannermHealthWatch learned Monday that Self Care Catalysts, a patient intelligence and solutions company, is teaming up with mental health advocate and Schizophrenia patient Kristy Speaks to honor Mental Health Awareness week.

According to this morning’s announcement, the partnership comes as a result of the company’s Self Care Tool Design Challenge, an initiative kickstarted by CEO Grace Soyao to “improve and promote patient engagement in the Canadian healthcare space.”

Kristy will fly to Toronto from Drumright, Oklahoma, to collaborate and produce the winning self-care tool — a groundbreaking positive affirmation tool customized for Schizophrenia Health Storylines — which she hopes will change lives of her peers in the same way the the self-care app has done for her.

New App Provides Innovative Mobile and Web-based Help for Persons living with Schizophrenia

Today in America, the number of people living with Schizophrenia outnumbers the combined populations of North Dakota and Wyoming.

But as a statement from SARDAA provided to mHealthWatch this week explains, social stigma and a severe lack of resources make managing the disorder a daily struggle.

Since January of 2008, the Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America (SARDAA) has passionately promoted hope and recovery for those with brain conditions, and its new App is about “to revolutionize management of mental health disorders for good.”
