Advanced Health & Care and GENTAG announced the market launch of a fully integrated wireless Near Field Communications feature cell phone.

The device is capable of remotely monitoring care worker visits in private homes. 4,000 GENTAG GT-601v2 NFC phones have already been deployed in the UK since June 2012, Wednesday’s announcement reads.

mHealth May Be Critical in Combating COPD in the UK


In what amounts to the latest powerhouse European partnership born of a joint mHealth effort, AstraZeneca and Exco InTouch have announced a groundbreaking program to “develop and launch interactive mobile phone and internet-based health tools.”

The goal of the partnership is to help patients in the United Kingdom and their health care providers track and manage chronic conditions.

AstraZeneca’s R&D organization and Exco InTouch are developing the tool with an initial focus on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
