HIMSS16 Venture+ Forum Announces Four Companies Advancing to Final Pitch CompetitionOn Monday, the 10th annual Venture+ Forum taking place at HIMSS16 announced the four companies selected to present their health technology solutions at the final pitch competition on Wednesday, March 2 at the The 2016 HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition.

The four finalists — Bright.md (@Bright_Health), Flow Health (@FlowHealthHQ), Sansoro Health (@SansoroHealth) and VUCA Health (@vucahealth) — were selected from 18 companies that delivered live presentations to an expert panel of investors and healthcare industry leaders.

According to a statement emailed to MHW, the final four will participate in a live pitch off before a panel of health system and global industry leaders and venture capital investors.

Venture Capital Comes into Focus for 2013 mHealth SummitAs mHealthWatch reported in October, the latest industry projections call for a 100% increase in venture capital funding for health IT this year.

Some 150 deals in the third quarter of this year alone accounted for $737 million raised in VC funding. The dollar amount of disclosed deals surpassed the second quarter total of $623 million.

It comes as no surprise that venture capital is front and center for the upcoming 2013 mHealth Summit.
