Henry Ford Health System Taps Vidyo


Leading embedded video collaboration platform provider Vidyo today announced that Henry Ford Health System has deployed integrated virtual visits within the Epic MyChart workflow to provide simplified access to care.

IDSolutions Healthcare, Vidyo’s premier Epic telehealth deployment partner, has established telehealth ecosystems throughout healthcare institutions across the United States.

Henry Ford offers mobile-based virtual visits in several specialties and has plans to expand to others in the coming months. “Telemedicine is a convenient way for patients to talk with their physician face-to-face in lieu of a conventional office visit,” said Courtney Stevens, Director of Virtual Care at Henry Ford. “Given today’s ever evolving healthcare environment, patients are looking for options beyond the traditional methods for connecting with their physician. Virtual visits appeal to a wide spectrum of patients.”

Vidyo Integrates with Allscripts FollowMyHealth Patient Engagement Platform


Vidyo, an integrated video collaboration technology leader, announced Tuesday that Allscripts — an agnostic provider of electronic healthcare record technology — has chosen the Vidyo.io platform to power virtual consultations directly embedded into the FollowMyHealth patient portal.

The on demand video visits can be launched directly from the patient portal workflow, simplifying remote consultations between physicians and patients.

Success With Robotic Rounds in Neonatal Intensive Care UnitVidyo, a provider of embedded interactive video communications and telehealth, is set to introduce its new clinical design services, called VirtualDesign, at ATA 2016 Fall Forum this week in New Orleans.

We’re told that Wendy Deibert is joining Vidyo as vice president of clinical services to help facilitate the integration of telehealth programs with the existing operations and workflows of care providers.

Medical University of South Carolina Purchases Vidyo for Telehealth Objectives


MUSCThis week, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) announced that it has simplified access to high quality remote consultations between clinicians and patients by deploying Epic’s telehealth and virtual care workflows tightly integrated with Vidyo’s real-time video communication platform.

“Virtual visits are the latest addition to MUSC’s robust telehealth portfolio that includes telestroke, tele-ICU, school based telehealth, medical home co-management, maternal fetal telemedicine, telemental health and other applications,” the organization said in a news release emailed to mHealthWatch.

Vidyo Confirms Strategic Investment from Kaiser Permanente Ventures


Vidyo Confirms Strategic Investment from Kaiser Permanente VenturesAhead of the weekend, Vidyo, Inc. — a leader in high quality visual communications — announced a $10M strategic investment from Kaiser Permanente Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Kaiser Permanente.

The company also revealed $5M in finding has been secured from existing investors, for a $15M follow-on round of funding.

Vidyo has raised $163M to date from investors including Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Rho Ventures, Sevin Rosen Funds, QuestMark Partners, and others. The company will use the funds to accelerate growth in vertical markets.
