NewYork-Presbyterian and Walgreens Announce Telemedicine Collaboration

NewYork-Presbyterian and Walgreens are collaborating to bring convenient access to NewYork-Presbyterian’s world-class care through new telemedicine services, now available through Walgreens digital properties and at self-service kiosks at select Duane Reade drugstores in New York.

NewYork-Presbyterian, New York’s No. 1 hospital, is offering the telemedicine services as part of its NYP OnDemand suite of digital health services.

“We are delighted to work with Walgreens to bring NewYork-Presbyterian’s world-class care right to your neighborhood drugstore with this exciting new platform,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “Patients can expect to receive focused, one-on-one care from leading physicians, where and when they need it. We believe telemedicine has a critical role to play in expanding access to high-quality care, and we are proud to be at the forefront of digital healthcare delivery.”

Walgreens Touts New Center for Health & Wellbeing Research

Recently, Walgreens announced the launch of its Center for Health & Wellbeing Research, a website that features more than 50 Walgreens outcomes studies completed over the past six years. Areas of research include access to care and patient experience, adherence and clinical outcomes, digital health and member engagement, health care costs, HIV and specialty pharmacy, vaccinations and more.

We’re told that visitors to the site will find summaries, links and original documents related to company research reports and studies that have been published in peer-reviewed medical and health care publications, as well as presented at scientific and industry conferences.

More Mobile Rewards on Tap for Retail Pharmacy Giant

walgreens-logoOur sister site MMW is reporting Tuesday that Walgreens Balance Rewards members can now apply their loyalty account at checkout through Android Pay.

This ability, we’re told, furthers the convenience of earning and redeeming points and expanding the company’s portfolio of unified mobile payments solutions.

Monday’s formal announcement explains that this latest integration gives the more than 85 million active Balance Rewards members, many of whom use Android devices, another way to earn and use loyalty points in-store, and eliminates the need to separately scan or enter their Balance Rewards card.

HealthPrize Technologies Working in Collaboration with Walgreens

Walgreens Partners with Apple Watch for a New Medication Refill and Reminder AppHealthPrize Technologies has just confirmed a new collaboration with Walgreens through which the HealthPrize Action Engine patient engagement and medication adherence platform will be offered through the drugstore chain’s website.

The Walgreens program powered by HealthPrize will finish development later this month and will be presented to pharmaceutical sponsors as a way to support patient adherence for prescribed medications.

It is planned to be offered to patients filling certain brand-name prescriptions for chronic conditions such as diabetes on Walgreens.com, a statement emailed to MHW reads.

Retail Pharmacy Giant Takes Mobile Coupons to the Next Level

Walgreens, Mobile CouponsOur sister site MMW reported Wednesday morning that Walgreens customers now have the ability to redeem paperless coupons from Walgreens and manufacturers for online purchases.

This is, of course, in addition to in-store purchases, where the same coupons are also accepted.

Additionally, offers can now be “clipped” on product detail pages and in search results on Walgreens.com, and through the Walgreens mobile app, a press release shared with MMW explains.

Walgreens Introduces Latest Mobile Health Initiatives

Walgreens adopts iBeacon to personalize coupons, boost salesWalgreens, in collaboration with MDLIVE, is touting the expansion of the Walgreens mobile app.

The app, we’re told, now offers MDLive’s telehealth services to users in 20 additional states (now totaling 25).

The organizations are also launching an updated telehealth experience within the app, providing better functionality and integration.
