CellTrak Technologies, which provides integrated mobile solutions for the home healthcare and hospice markets, is now in business with Trillium Health Partners, a leading hospital and provider of community-based, specialized programs.
One of these specialized program is the Renal Program, which entails care for patients with diminished kidney function and provides at-home dialysis support.
As a result, Trillium is turning to CellTtak for a new mobile safety effort within the Renal Program.
“The mobile solution was an easy decision to make regarding how to keep our team safe and accounted for,” explains Sandy Beckett, Patient Care Manager at Trillium. “We chose CellTrak for our nurses to identify any occupational safety issues. Automatic alerts are sent via CellTrak to our contact centre at the hospital if a nurse has been logged into the application for longer than their scheduled time. This mobile solution is keeping the focus of the nurse on patient care while our administrative team focuses on staff safety.”
Trillium selected the latest secured Blackberry devices to run CellTrak “for safety purposes.”
Nurses log into the application upon starting a dialysis visit. If the visit runs longer than the allotted time an alert is sent and notifies the contact centre that a nurse could potentially be in a dangerous situation.
