IBC chose Kony for its ability to reach more than 9,000 mobile smartphones/tablets/kiosks and operating systems using its cross-platform mobile development platform, allowing IBC to develop robust mobile solutions for members, providers, and business partners regardless of what type of device they use.

Kony’s integrated Development Environment (IDE), dubbed “KonyOne,” is the only platform that enables a single application definition to deliver both native applications and mobile web (HTML5 and non-HTML5) applications that span all seven major mobile operating systems including iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, Java ME, Symbian, and webOS.  Having the ability to develop a single application and port it for distribution on any platform is a huge benefit for healthcare organizations wanting a mobile app strategy, especially those unsure about where to start or which platform(s) to focus on first.

“Healthcare enterprises have many mobile app technologies to choose from,” says Michael Yetter, director of eBusiness at IBC.  ”We chose the Kony Platform because it clearly demonstrated that we could get to market quicker, reach the broadest range of smart devices, and lower our overall development and maintenance costs.  Kony also allows us to reach a wider audience and meet the consumer on their mobile platform of choice – we will no longer have to worry about operating system upgrades or new devices on the market.”
