With mobile apps proliferating throughout the healthcare space at a dramatic rate, it comes as no surprise that a promising new blood transfusion app is said to be in the works.
According to the U.K.’s Prolific North, Barnsley agency HMA Digital Marketing is teaming with the NHS for the project in question.
The app imagined would reportedly assist medical professionals when prescribing blood components at the point of care.
HMA won the tender after being approached by NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) to propose a solution for the design and development of the app. Once complete, the app will be used to assess behavior change in prescribing blood transfusions with the aim of improving safety and encouraging the use of evidence-based practice.
“We’re delighted to be working with the NHS on the design and development of a new blood app,” Laura Slack, a healthcare expert at HMA, is quoted in the report. “Our partnership has made it possible to bring together complementary skills to address key healthcare challenges and improve treatment for blood transfusion patients.”
